Michael Collins hit his third goal in three games to give Huddersfield a 1-0 win at Brighton, their third straight league victory, on Saturday. The midfielder scored a last minute winner at Leeds last weekend and reacted sharply to turn in a close-range shot five minutes after the break to seal a 1-0 win for the managerless Terriers.
The Seagulls were handed a lifeline when captain Nicky Forster was brought down by Jonathan Worthington, but Terriers goalkeeper Matt Glennon brilliantly saved Forster's spot-kick 15 minutes from time.
Forster struck the penalty low and hard but Glennon dived to his right to save and then superbly denied Bradley Johnson as the midfielder attempted to convert the rebound.
Brighton striker Glenn Murray was thwarted by the woodwork midway through the first half and Johnson slammed a 40-yard free-kick against the bar in the closing stages.
Brighton pushed hard for an equaliser and the impressive Glennon made a vital late save to deny Kevin Thornton.
So Murphy has turned Town's season around in just 2 matches he has beaten bitter rivals Leeds and now Brighton.

Terriers snatch derby glory
Town's generous defence gifted Leeds the opening goal after only four minutes as Joe Skarz and James Berrett left Luciano Becchio's cross to each other, enabling Robert Snodgrass to poke the ball home at the far post and justify his inclusion ahead of leading scorer Jermaine Beckford.
Snodgrass, full of running and ideas, gave Town's defence little rest but Skarz and Berrett recovered from their earlier blunder to make some vital challenges.
Andy Robinson had a headed goal disallowed for offside as Leeds enjoyed most of the first-half possession and Gary Roberts twice went close for Town who equalised within 30 seconds of the restart.
Leeds keeper Casper Ankergren failed to deal with Keigan Parker's cross and Skarz atoned for his earlier mistake with a close range shot in the congested goalmouth.
Matt Glennon pulled off two point-blank saves to deny substitute Beckford and Becchio in rapid succession before Collins grabbed the glory for Town by turning home Danny Cadamarteri's cross. Michael Collins pounced in injury time to inflict a first home defeat on Leeds since mid-August and earn Huddersfield a 2-1 win in their West Yorkshire derby.

Leeds Preview
Town travel up the road to Elland Road on Saturday for a 12.15 k.o against bitter rivals Leeds. This will be Gerry Murphys first league game for Town this time round and it wont be easy as Leeds are flying high in 3rd place at the moment. There is expected to be around 30,000 fans there on Saturday.
Past meeting between the sides havent come to often but when they have Town have been more succesful with 25 wins being superior to Leeds 22 wins. Also 17 of the games have ended level. But Town have only won 9 times at Elland Road whilst Leeds have won 17 times the most recent last season as they beat Town by 4 goals to 0. Whilst Town's latest win against Leeds was at the Galpharm last season as Andy Holdsworth headed past United keeper to win the game 1-0 for the Terriers.
Liam Dickinson might play his last game for Town on Saturday as his loan is running out very shortly and this could be the last time we see him in a Blue and White shirt unless we can loan him again. Town are without influential Andy Booth and Michael Flynn who are still both injured.
Leeds young sensation Fabian Delph is set to start again. The young midfielder has attracted attention from Premiership clubs such as Newcastle and Arsenal due to his performances this season. He has scored 3 goals in 12 games this season. The Leeds star is already a key part to England under 19's and seems to be making impact in the Under 21's aswell. Who knows he might be playing for England in the short future.

Town 3 - 4 Port Vale
After 1 game in the F.A Cup the run is over for the terriers. After such a succesful campaign last season as Town beat the ex Premiership side Birmingham it is all over this season after just 1 game. Town were today involved in a 4-3 F.A Cup thriller against Port Vale.
A lonely 6,942 turned up at the Galpharm even though smaller prices than usual. Gerry Murphy, the caretaker manager, was in charge for today's game.
The first goal came in the 28th minute for the visitors via Louis Dodds after he capatalizd on a mistake from Joe Skarz. But the Terriers hit back after 45minutes via Michael Collins who scored at Stamford Bridge last season. The teams went in at half time at 1 a piece, 1-1.
Then in the 51st minute Ian Craney placed Town into the lead after some pacient passing from the Terriers. Town then went 3 -1 up thanks from a Robbie Williams header in the 65th minute. Then Port Vale grabbed one back in the 79th minute through David Howland after a clever chip over Town keeper Matt Glennon. Then Port Vale pulled level in the 85th minute as Dodds got his second goal of the game and of the Cup. Then Marc Richards completed the Vale comeback after a fantstic last minute free kick that left Glennon with no chance.
Town's lineup looked like this:
Glennon
Goodwin
Clarke
Butler
Williams
Roberts
Craney
Collins
Skarz
Holdsworth
Jevons
Used subs:
Cadamarteri
Vale:
Anyon
Griffith
McCombe
Collins
McCrory
Dodds
Howland
Brammer
Richman
Edwards
Richards
Used Subs:
Glover
Stockley
Davidson
So already Town out of every cup that they started in but todays game was good value so hopefully Town can keep this scoring run going on but tighten up at the back soon.

Ternant has Gone
Today Huddersfield have announced that Stan Ternant has left by mutual consent. Also with the departure Ronnie Jepson and Mick Docherty have now left due to Stan leaving. Also vice chairman Andrew Watson has left, Andrew was a vital part in bringing Stan to the team and now both have left.
This must be a good thing for some fans as that Town haven't been performing recently and the fans have been shouting for him to get sacked for a few weeks now. Now who will Town get?
Soon there will be a list of favorites for the job on the blog so keep coming on.

Town 3 - 2 Crewe
A second home game in 5 days and Town have now collected 4points from the 2 games. Todays visitors Crewe came to the Galpharm sitting in 24th but climbed up to 23rd due to Hereford losing by a bigger margain.
Crewe didnt bring many fans but the fans they brought showed they didnt want current manager Steve Holland at the club any longer. The game then started and Town started bright and at a high tempo. Town got rewarded with there goal in the 20th minute as Andy Butler scored in the 6 yard box. It was basically a scramble in the area and Butler finnally got the ball in via a volley on his second attempt. Town then doubled there advantage in the 39th minute. Ian Craney the scorer as he curled the ball into the top right hand corner. Just a minute later though Crewe scored after Glennon came for the ball but missed it and Clayton Donaldson made advantage of the open net and put Crewe back in the game. The half time whistle went and Town had played well but couldnt go in to the game with a bigger advantage than 1 goal.
After 59mins Donaldson doubled his tally for the game as he got through the Town defence due to a super ball from midfielder Joe Grant. There were suspicions of offside though and the Town fans didnt seem to take it to the heart. In a game they were in control of they had now messed it up and the game was level at 2-2. Town then didnt play well after that and the game got frustrating for the fans. It then took a 88th minute brace from Keigan Parker has he scored his first goal for the club. Curling the ball into the far top corner. Relief for the Town fans as they screemed and cheered but even after that the fans were still chanting 'Ternant out'. In the 90th minute Parker then got sent off for a second bookable offence for hand ball.
The attendance was 11,679 today and thanks to that win Town have moved up to 16th in the league and are 4 points from the relegation zone.

Town 0 - 0 Yeovil
On a freezing tuesday night 10,719 fans came to the Galpharm to see the battle of the Towns. Huddersfield and Yeovil. After a long long trip up the Yeovil fans made them selves heard all game. But Towns (Hudders) new scheme seemed to work. They mixed the home fans into the South stand for the first time in over half a decade. This was to get a better atmosphere behind the goals. The town fans were making them selves heard but the players couldnt make this pay.
Since the off Town were straight at Yeovil being the better team but they couldnt direct the ball past Yeovil keeper Asmir Begovic. But it was Yeovil who had the first attack in the second minute from Murtagh. But then Flyyn saw his shot well parried away from Begovic and then after 16minutes Liam Dickinson got going and he hit the outside of the net. Later Roberts and yet again Dickinson were stopped by the in form Yeovil keeper. Then came Dickinsons first free kick as he surprised Town fans with his effort as it nearly crept in at the near post but yet again it went into the side netting. Butler nearly scored but yet again Yeovil's on loan keeper tiped it over the bar. Roberts then nearly ruffled the back of the net in the 38th minute but his low hard shot was well saved from the Yeovil keeper again. In the 42nd minute Liam had his 2nd free kick but like the first could only find the outside of the net. Then minutes later he had another atempt and against all odds he curled in round the wall and clipped the post.
The second haf started ata quick tempo and the Town fans were singing none stop for about 10-15mins with the song 'Blue Army'. The first two attempts were flashed over by Flyyn and Williams. Parker almost got the goal but Begovic was there again to deny him then Yeovil started an attack with ex Town legend Danny Schofield at the heart of it. But Yeovil sub Warne couldnt direct the ball past Town keeper Glennon. Minutes after Yeovil manger Slade made his second change Goodwin had Towns next best chance and then about 7 mintues after that Darren Way nearly headed in for Yeovil. Town then made there first and second sub with on loan striker Steve Jones and Andy Holdsworth coming on replacing Jon Worthington and Jim Goodwin. Then Dickinson almost scored again but this time was denied by the out stretching leg of a Yeovil defender. Yeovil maybe should of scored but Warne's effort was poor and was hit into the side netting. The game was coming to a close and the Town fans were getting impacient again with the song 'Ternant Out'.
0-0 in a game which could have gone either way i believe M.O.M was Towns on loan striker Liam Dickinson who had a great game and deserved a goal. Hoefully Town can keep hold of him.
Just a snippet of how good us Town fans are. BLUE ARMY! BLUE ARMY! BLUE ARMY! BLUE ARMY!

Peterborough 4 - 0 Town
The prolific striker celebrated his first start since dislocating an elbow seven weeks ago with a double.
The former Grays man opened and competed the scoring as Darren Ferguson's side made light work of a sorry Huddersfield who have now conceded nine goals in two games.
Mclean broke the deadlock with a rasping 12th-minute finish after George Boyd had danced into the box and provider turned goalscorer 12 minutes later when Boyd doubled the lead after being released from midfield by Paul Coutts.
There was further misery for Huddersfield after the break when Chris Whelpdale (51) headed a classy third goal before Mclean's shot slipped under Matt Glennon's body after 63 minutes.
There was more misery for Town in stoppage-time with skipper Chris Lucketti dismissed for a professional foul on home striker Craig Mackail-Smith.
